The Venice Sessions
"This is the kind of music that allows those who might be more removed from classical stylings to reconnect with the beauty and simplicity of a string quartet. The undeniable skill and passion that has gone into each of these pieces, both in the arrangement and in the performances, is on absolutely stunning display at nearly every measure.
Constellation Quartet has created something that is both beautiful and inspiring with "The Venice Sessions". If you have (or would like to have) an appreciation for music in one of its most classic forms, this EP is worth a listen ten times over. Truly brilliant work."

Our Biography
A STORY STEEPED IN SOUND
Formed in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, Constellation Quartet was initially put together as a pick-up group to perform with The Neighborhood Concert, a company producing socially-distanced events.
The quartet spent months in zoom meetings, masked rehearsals outdoors, and navigating the ever-changing landscape of the world in 2020. In Spring of 2021, they accepted the resident-artist position with the Garden Concert Series in Redondo Beach. Since then, they have performed to sold-out crowds on a monthly basis with a selection of the best singer-songwriters Los Angeles has to offer.
Constellation Quartet is committed to bringing live music into a variety of communities and contemporizing the role of a string quartet in the 21st century. Their latest release on December 3rd, The Venice Sessions, offers an array of novel arrangements from cellist, Max Mueller, and a meticulously recorded performance unique to each song. The Venice Sessions presents arrangements of classic tunes like "Fire and Rain" - James Taylor, and an original composition feat. Cliff Beach.
Be sure to watch out for the quartet in Spring of 2022 as they launch the next season of content and shows!
EMILY MOORE
VIOLIN
(she/her) / Emily is an avid enthusiast of life. She enjoys fiddle music, anything tea related, and is a borderline hoarder of plants. According to some sources, she has a personal mission to "Bring Back the Bach." With a degree in Popular Music from USC, she has diverged from the traditional violin path and takes great joy in taking the road less traveled.
JAYLA TANG
VIOLIN
(they/them) / With impeccable style and class, Jayla brings a warmth and consistency to the group that is unparalleled. They care deeply about making this world a better place and delight in the nuances of life and how we connect. Jayla holds a degree in Violin Performance from CalArts and currently lives in a self-made jungle of art.
JENNIFER WU
VIOLA
(she/her) / A native of Taiwan, Jennifer loves her cats more than most people. She can be found surfing on any given morning and is deeply committed to offering the quartet homemade delicacies at all rehearsals. A strong presence on the Viola, Jennifer fills in the middle of the quartet with warmth and skill.
MAX MUELLER
CELLO
(he/him) / Max loves the Golden Girls, film scores from the 90’s, and imitating his Midwestern relatives. He is an innovative composer and educator, and has mixed feelings about how many reality tv shows he’s played on (too many). Max can be found dreaming up plans to change the world through music education, composing his own music, and collaborating with the best filmmakers who are willing to work with him.
